It’s pretty irksome when you’re in a diner and someone from the next table suddenly hollers out in laughter; or worse; talks animatedly at the top of their lungs as if the one they are talking to is atop a mountain! You turn around only to find the person deep in conversation with another on his cellular phone.

You begin to see that everyone from the surrounding tables are likewise giving the person irritated looks and murmuring among themselves just how crass this person is. Sadly, it is not a rare occurrence.

Several people have this habit of yakking on their cell phones as if they were the only ones in the room and not in a public place. Lest you become one of them, it’s best to have your cellphone conduct checked.

PHONE ETHICS

When in a communal place, we don’t go around talking as if we were airing current news that everyone should hear. This goes as well to cellular phone conversations. It’s a personal conversation that should remain private – just between you and the person on the other line.

If you are in a restaurant, in a crowded room or somewhere that people are just a few feet from you; you should move away from the crowd or excuse yourself from the table to take the call in private.

At the movies, public commutes, libraries and other places where silence is observed; it’s wise to direct all calls to your voice mail and have your phone in vibrate mode. Naturally, if you’re on a date, answering phone calls on your cellphone is a big no-no! You don’t want your date to think you’d rather talk to someone else when you’re with them.

CELLPHONE PRECATIONS

One of the essentials to also remember when talking about cellphone conduct is that behaving in such a way that you aren’t so focused on your cellular and your calls could ultimately save your life – especially if you are driving. There have been numerous accidents caused by a driver losing focus because they were animatedly talking to someone on their cellphones.

Whether you have your Bluetooth headset on or you are on speaker phone, the fact remains that your attention is divided between driving and chatting on your cellphone. You will not only be endangering yourself, you will likewise be endangering other people on the street.

Setting limitations as to their usage is an essential factor when thinking about giving children their own phones. While listening to songs and taking pictures may be a few of the things that kids want to be able to do with their cellphones; permitting them to browse the internet or chat minus parental guidance should be something parents need to think twice about.

In this case, getting them a cellphone with only the bare essentials could be the answer. Also, giving these phones as incentives for doing well in class will train kids that they have to show good behavior in order to be permitted to have their own phones.

Finally, one way to also teach them about responsibility is training them to put aside allowance so they can buy their own prepaid loads; or both parents and kids can split the cost of the cellphone. There are many ways for parents to get something constructive from these tools.

These days, having a cellphone is a given. We never leave home without one anymore. The convenience that these revolutionary little gizmos give us is simply amazing. Also, mobile phones have grown from being only portable telephones that we utilize to communicate with others while we’re on the move to mini-computers that can do just about anything. We can play games on them, chill to music, see movies, take pictures, and so much more. However with today’s various choices for mobile phones, picking the one that’s right for you can get a bit harrowing. There are just so many cell phones to choose from, with a good percentage of them not coming in inexpensive. So, if you’re going to buy a cell phone, then you should be sure that it’s the right one for you.

Here are a few guidelines to help you in making your decision:

Know your Mobile Phone’s Purpose

First and foremost, you should determine what you’ll use your Mobile Phone for. Will you use it for business? Will you use it as an all-in-one multimedia device? Simply put, what you’re going to ask is whether you’ll be utilizing your phone for work or for play.

Know How You’re Going to Use Your Mobile Phone

Ask yourself how you’re going to use your Mobile Phone. Are you going to use it mostly for calls or for its features? Will you use your cell phone as an organizer? If so, then you should definitely pick a business phone. Do you plan to make a lot of pictures and videos with it? Then pick one that focuses with multimedia. Or, are you going to take it along with you on your adventures? If you will, then be sure that it’s hardy and durable. At this point, you’ll be asking yourself about what your preferences are and how you’re going to use your Cell Phone.

Know How Much You’re Prepared to Spend

Always settle a price range for your new Mobile Phone. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA brand is giving birth to an Android platform monster smartphone with the codename Sony Ericsson Rachel. The Release date in Australia may be late 2009 or the early part of 2010. Rachael’s retail price is still a mystery, but it is competing with the HTC Hero, the iPhone 3G S, as well as the Samsung Galaxy, so it may be in the AU$1,000 range more or less. The Rachael is the first smartphone in the XPERIA line to offer the Google Android platform. It is powered by a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The Rachael also has a MicroSD slot instead of M2 and it is equipped with a mini USB port. The Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon chipset runs at 1 GHz and has 3D graphics, which means that it will be faster than the new Apple iPhone 3G S. The 8.1 megapixel camera with auto focus and flash should keep photo lovers in a state of euphoria and the 3.5mm headphone jack at the top of the phone will make music lovers extremely happy. Rachael’s keyboard is the standard numeric keypad, which is available on the XPERIA X1. We think the phone is too thin to have a sliding keyboard.

What’s New?

The addition of Google’s Android platform and Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon processor puts the Rachael in fine company. Sony Ericsson is planning to run the new 2.0 version of the Android operating system, which will be available at the end of 2009. With Wi-Fi, GPS, 3G and HSDPA connectivity, Rachael can perform and even out perform the other smartphones in her class. The full-touch 4” 800 x 480 pixel WVGA resolution screen is big enough to enjoy all the media features of a Sony Ericsson phone, as well as the 3D graphic features incorporated into the system. The 8.1 megapixel camera is the most powerful model used on any Android handset to date. The HTC Hero and the Samsung Galaxy offer a 5 megapixel camera and the iPhone 3G S has a 3 megapixel model. The Rachael may also have an Adobe flash, but that has not been announced. Snapdragon has some amazing specs; HD Video recording, GPS, Wi-Fi support and broadcast TV are all part of the operating system. The actual dimensions of the Rachael have not been released, but it appears it will not have a sliding QWERTY keyboard.

It’s safe to say that the Rachael, which may be called the XPERIA X5, will have all the features of the XPERIA X1. The Rachael should have the XPERIA panel interface, push email, multiple navigation, RSS feeds, video clips and video calls, as well as handwriting recognition. XPERIA offers easy access to the web, as well as Microsoft Exchange for business applications. These features should be included and may even be updated in the Rachael model.

Conclusion

Speculation can be dangerous, especially when it comes to new smartphone features. The Rachael sounds like it could outperform the Hero, the Galaxy, the 3G S and just about any other smartphone on the market today. Smartphones are personal assistants and they are only as good as user thinks they are, in terms of functionality. Reviewing and rating a new mobile phone is a subjective exercise for the most part. All of them offer features that are useful, although some tend to be impractical. It appears that Rachael will be practical, simple and useful for business as well as for pleasure. We feel that Sony Ericsson has demonstrated the ability to develop smartphones that appeal to a broad customer base. The Rachael is a good example of how quickly mobile phone technology and our perceived needs are advancing.

The developments in mobile phone (cell) technology, just over the last 10 years have been staggering. It wasn’t so long ago that phones were the size of small dog and had about as many functions as a light switch.Modern phones though do a whole lot more than they used to. You can download videos to watch on your phone, get real-time news fed into it and even use it as a satellite navigation device. The mobile phone is not stopping there however, many believe that it will continue to have more technology incorporated into it and will soon be the only gadget people will need.

John Moore, head of Advanced Technology at Cambridge University had outlined his vision for the future. “ I predict that very soon all the requirements of the modern way of life will be served by phones…technology is getting smaller thanks to things like mini Deutsch connectors and people are becoming ever more mobile, so it make sense that people want to carry their life in their pocket”.

Phones now incorporate MP3 players and as memory in phones is expanding all the time, 1000s of songs can be stored, making an additional MP3 player unnecessary. The cameras in phones now are catching up normal digital cameras, and can offer mega pixel specs of up to 10.0, have a whole host of different shooting functions and again, can easily store whole photo albums. Internet browsing has been made very easy on the latest phones, and many websites have started creating ‘phone-friendly’ versions of their sites in response to the growth in phone browsing.

Many people have argued that a phone will never be able to match the benefits of a large screen that home computers and televisions provide. However, Nokia have recently released a phone with an incorporated projector built in that can provide a screen size of up to 50 inches.  It seems like it’s out with home entertainment units and cable ties, and in with nana processers and micro fan accessories, powering some of the most power bits of kit the world has ever seen.

When you stop to consider it, it’s really quite difficult to imagine that the huge, heavy, and unstylish dinosaurs that we used to term as mobiltelefoner in the 90’s were actually the predecessors of today’s suave, fashionable, and state of the art mobile phones. But they really are, and we’re only left with this feeling of amazement at how inventive people can really become. It’s inspiring to see the amount of progress that has been done in just a short period of time. In fact, it’s funny that cell phones are still called phones today. Because with the functions they are laden with, these phones have become much more than just instruments of communication, they’ve become the Swiss knives of multimedia players. And at the speed things are going today, we can expect more and more innovations and developments to come our way.

Pay Using the Mobile Phone

The idea of being able to transact through one’s cell phone is probably one of the things that will revolutionize the way we live our lives. This method is actually already being put into use in Japan. Basically, what you’ll do is pay for credits on your cell phone. Credits, of course, correspond to money. There are devices with sensors in the places where you can purchase things and all you’ll have to do is to wave your mobile phone in front of the sensor in order to make your payment. The credits you owe will then be subtracted from the number of credits you still have in your cell phone. The new phones being manufactured today already have this feature. Of course, it will take some time to catch on. But, like all the other innovations that have been introduced these past years, you’ll just notice that this feature, too, will begin to be a norm in our lifestyles.

The Green Phone

Sony Ericsson, one of the leading developers in mobile phones, has designed a mobile phone that is completely biodegradable. As of now, it’s still in its baby stages, but it won’t be long until we have a new, earth friendly phone in our midst. No longer shall we be made guilty by pictures of discarded phones gathering in land fills. Finally, here’s a phone that will actually aid us in the effort to save the planet. Sony’s new mobile phone is aptly labled the “Greenheart”. It’s made of a 100% recyclable plastic called bioplastic. Also, it won’t have the standard user manual that comes in a small book. Instead, the manual would just be in html format. It’s truly a winning achievement in the effort to stop global warming.

The financial crisis affected the spending habits of shoppers, which reflected on decreased sales and profits for businesses.  With money as tight as ever and the prices of goods and services becoming unstable, more and more people are holding on to their wallets and they are cutting costs where and when they can.

The mobile phone is as good a start as any.  Today’s market is saturated with all kinds of mobile phones—from cheap basic models to high tech ones.  According to statistics, sales of mobile phones reached a billion in 2006, just before the start of the worldwide financial meltdown.  One thing is for sure, all these mobile phones can do the job just as well as the next one.  So, with this in mind, where do people go if they need a phone that is light on the budget but looks like a million bucks?  Before getting a payday advance or breaking a piggy bank for some cash to buy a nifty mobile phone, would-be buyers should first do a bit of research about which phone fits their needs or lifestyle. Mobile phones offer convenience and reassurance to its owners.

People have different purposes in using a mobile phone; they should figure that out before buying one. When picking a good mobile phone, brand or usage plan comes second to how it will be used by the owner.  Here are some useful questions to ask before buying a mobile phone. The answers to these questions could guide the buyer in choosing the mobile phone that fits their needs.

Is it more for calling people or getting work done?
•    How much will the phone be used?
•    Is the phone to be used more for calls, texting, or connecting to the internet?
•    What additional features, aside from calls, does the user require?

In today’s world, mobile devices are not just for making and receiving calls.  One of the causes of stress for would-be buyers is the features of mobile phones.  No one phone provides all the features available in the market. Many have cameras or FM radios, while others include bluetooth capability.  So the most important question for buyers is what exactly do they want from their phones?  Once they have decided on that, it’s time to buy.  Come to think of it, it’s easier to get a cash loan nowadays than pick a brand new mobile phone!
